Hey blog. I'm doing a blog update. Top albums 2021 post is coming soon, hopefully tomorrow, but for now we have this blog update.

Recently I've been going down this YouTube rabbit hole. There's this bizarre subgenre of parody drumline sheet music (above video unrelated).

It's not just one channel. There's a whole society of these parody drumline sheet music YouTube channels! See below examples:


 

 

I am thankful for these channels, and for the internet in general for allowing such a genre to proliferate. The world is good.

 Major Bloggage The Tragedy of Macbeth      Hey blog. Just saw The Tragedy of Macbeth today. So many Macbeth movies, it's hard to stand out! Of course everyone's gonna remember this one cause a Coen brother made it. Main story is the same, as in the words are unchanged, so Joel poured all his effort into the look of the thing. In my opinion it payed off! Gorgeous to look at of course, but you also get the sense of the pointlessness of this power grabbing. His folk revere him as the king of Scotland but all the camera ever shows is his vacant castle. So it's not just looking good for the sake of good looks, it adds to the thematicness.       Denzel Washington and Frances MacDormand are great of course. They really understand the words they're saying and deliver them with an impressive naturalism. But the little bitty parts are cast wonderfully too! Especially the lady who plays the weird sisters, Kathryn Hunter. She does this sort of Gollum thing where she's talking
